Refund and cancellation policy
Cancel more than 48 hours before your service and your payment for it is fully refundable, subject to any operator terms we gave you before payment. Cancellations 48 hours or less before the service are non-refundable, except as set out below. A booking is confirmed only after full payment, date confirmation and written confirmation from BMB.
1. Scope and application
This policy applies to transport, airport transfers, tours, excursions, attraction bookings, nightlife transfers, private trips, group arrangements and packages booked through BMB Transport and Tours Solution Limited, trading as BMB Transport & Tours (BMB). It applies to bookings made through our website, WhatsApp, email or any other authorised BMB booking channel.
BMB may provide a service directly or arrange it with an independent tour operator, attraction, cruise provider or transport supplier. Third-party services are subject to the particular operator's booking, cancellation, refund, rescheduling and weather policies, as explained below. Nothing in this policy excludes rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Booking confirmation and payment
A booking is confirmed only when payment has been received in full, the requested date and service have been confirmed with the relevant tour operator or supplier, and BMB has issued written booking confirmation. For services operated directly by BMB, BMB must confirm the date and availability.
A quotation, enquiry, payment receipt or partial payment does not by itself constitute final booking confirmation. Any deposit or partial payment is credited toward the booking total; it does not guarantee a date or availability unless expressly stated in writing. The balance must be paid by the deadline stated in your quotation or payment instructions.
If the requested service or date cannot be confirmed, BMB will offer an available alternative. If you do not accept an alternative, payments for the unconfirmed service will be refunded. Any separate services already confirmed will be assessed under their applicable terms.
3. Customer cancellations and the 48-hour rule
More than 48 hours before the scheduled service: payments for the cancelled service are fully refundable, subject to any applicable tour operator or supplier cancellation policy disclosed before payment. A supplier may require a longer notice period or apply a non-refundable charge even when you cancel more than 48 hours in advance. Any such restriction applies only to the relevant supplier service.
48 hours or less before the scheduled service: payments for the cancelled service are non-refundable, including cancellations received exactly 48 hours before the start time, unless applicable law, an applicable operator policy or a written exception granted by BMB provides otherwise. No-shows are treated as cancellations within this period.
The cutoff is measured in consecutive hours against the confirmed pickup or service start time, using Jamaica local time (UTC−5). Where BMB transport is included, the confirmed pickup time is the reference point for that service. Separately scheduled services are assessed individually unless clearly identified as an indivisible package with its own disclosed terms.
This rule concerns cancellations by the customer. Cancellations by BMB or a third-party operator, including cancellations caused by unsafe conditions, are addressed in sections 7 and 8.
4. How to cancel
Send cancellation requests to bookings@bmbtransportandtours.com or WhatsApp +1 (876) 804-3023. Include the booking name or reference, service date and the services or passengers you wish to cancel. Telephone conversations should be followed by a written message.
Notice takes effect when it reaches one of these designated channels, based on the available message or email timestamp. Eligibility does not depend on when BMB sends its acknowledgement. Keep your delivery record and contact us again if you do not receive an acknowledgement.
5. Third-party operator terms
For services supplied by another operator, that operator's specific terms govern its service, including availability, cancellation deadlines, refund eligibility, tickets, deposits, date changes, weather decisions, credits and rescheduling. These terms may be more restrictive than BMB's standard cancellation rule.
BMB will identify the relevant operator and provide or clearly summarise any material restrictions before requesting payment for that service. A stricter restriction will not be introduced retrospectively merely because a supplier later changes its policy. Mandatory legal rights take priority, followed by service-specific terms disclosed and accepted before payment, then this general policy.
BMB will explain any proposed deduction and the supplier service to which it relates. We will not apply the same cancellation charge twice. Any refund approved and returned by a supplier specifically for your booking will be passed on for that service, without an undisclosed deduction.
A refund, credit or date change from an operator is not guaranteed until that operator approves it. Credits, when offered, are subject to the operator's stated validity, availability, transferability and other disclosed conditions. An operator's terms do not remove BMB's responsibility for its own services or any responsibility imposed by applicable law.
6. Changes, group bookings and partial cancellations
Changes to dates, times, passenger numbers, pickup locations, destinations or activities are subject to availability and approval by BMB and any relevant operator. Requesting a change does not cancel or amend the original booking until BMB confirms the change in writing.
Additional operator costs or changes in price will be explained before you accept the change. If a requested change cannot be accommodated and you choose to cancel, the applicable cancellation policy will apply. Rescheduling does not automatically restart a cancellation window or make a previously non-refundable booking refundable.
Group bookings, private charters and special events may carry service-specific supplier terms disclosed before payment. A reduction in group size is treated as a partial cancellation. Per-person refunds depend on the cancelled component and its terms; a fixed-price vehicle or charter does not automatically become cheaper when fewer passengers travel.
7. Weather, safety and events beyond reasonable control
Light rain, cloudy conditions or a forecast alone do not automatically cancel a service or create a refund entitlement. If a service remains available and safe to operate but you choose not to attend, the customer cancellation rules apply.
For third-party activities, the relevant operator determines whether conditions allow the activity to proceed, subject to official restrictions and safety requirements. If the operator cancels, postpones or materially changes the activity because of weather, sea conditions, closures or other disruptions, refund, credit and rescheduling options are subject to that operator's applicable policy and mandatory legal rights.
BMB will communicate the available options and assist with the request. If your travel dates prevent rescheduling, tell us promptly so we can ask the operator what alternative or refund is available. BMB does not guarantee a cash refund where the operator's properly disclosed terms provide only a credit or rescheduling, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
For transport operated directly by BMB, we may suspend or cancel the service when conditions are unsafe or an official restriction prevents operation. You may accept an available alternative or receive a refund for the cancelled, unused BMB-operated service.
If an attraction is cancelled but transport remains available, contact BMB before deciding whether to travel. Each component will be assessed separately. We will not substitute an activity, impose an additional charge or treat a materially different itinerary as accepted without your agreement. Services already provided are not automatically refundable because a later part of the trip is cancelled.
8. Cancellation or inability to provide a service
If BMB cancels a service it operates or cannot provide the confirmed service, you may accept an agreed alternative or receive a refund for the affected service that has not been provided. BMB's customer cancellation deadline does not remove this entitlement.
If a third-party operator cancels or cannot provide its service, the available refund, credit or alternative will be handled under that operator's applicable terms and the protections in section 5. BMB will assist in communicating and pursuing the available remedy. Acceptance of an alternative remains your choice, although declining it does not itself create a cash refund entitlement beyond the applicable terms or law.
9. Airport transfers, delays and no-shows
You must provide accurate flight, arrival or departure, accommodation and contact details and notify BMB promptly of changes. BMB will make reasonable efforts to accommodate a notified flight delay, subject to vehicle availability, safety and other confirmed commitments. Waiting periods and any additional charges will be stated in the booking arrangements or agreed before they are incurred.
A notified delay is not automatically a no-show. If your flight is cancelled or your itinerary changes substantially, the service will be assessed as a change or cancellation under the applicable terms. Airline disruption does not automatically create a refund entitlement for a separate transport or tour booking.
A no-show occurs when you do not attend the confirmed pickup or meeting point within the agreed waiting period and have not agreed an alternative with BMB. Late arrival, failure to provide essential information or departure from the agreed meeting point may prevent service. The circumstances will be reviewed against the confirmed arrangements before a no-show decision is made.
10. Unused services and participation requirements
No refund is normally due when you voluntarily leave a trip early, omit an included activity or fail to use a service that was available as booked. Operator participation requirements, including age, health, identification and safety restrictions, apply where disclosed before payment. Refund eligibility after refusal of participation is subject to those terms and applicable law.
This section does not prevent a claim where the service was not provided as agreed, essential restrictions were not disclosed, or BMB or the operator is otherwise responsible under applicable law.
11. Refund assessment and payment
BMB will review a refund request against the notice time, services affected, payments received and any applicable operator terms. We will explain the outcome and any amount retained. Refunds will not exceed the amount paid for the affected service, and there will be no duplicate reimbursement for the same payment.
Approved refunds are normally returned to the original payer through the original payment method. Where this is not possible, an alternative method will be agreed with the payer. Refund processing begins once eligibility and the amount are confirmed. Supplier-controlled refunds may require the supplier's approval and release of funds, subject to any legal obligation requiring BMB to refund sooner.
BMB will communicate the expected processing time and material delays. Bank processing times, exchange-rate movements and charges imposed independently by your bank or payment provider may affect when or how much you receive in your account. BMB will not deduct an undisclosed administration or processing fee from a refund due under this policy.
12. Responsibilities, applicable rights and policy changes
Where BMB arranges a third-party service, the operator is responsible for delivering that service under its applicable terms. BMB does not control an operator's weather decisions, capacity or refund administration. This explanation is not a blanket exclusion of BMB's own obligations, negligence, misrepresentation or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
This policy is intended to operate subject to applicable Jamaican law and any other mandatory consumer protections that apply. If a provision is unenforceable, it applies only to the extent permitted by law and the remaining provisions continue where legally possible.
The version and service-specific terms supplied when you make your booking apply to that booking. Later policy changes will not retrospectively reduce an existing entitlement without your agreement and a lawful basis. By paying after receiving this policy and the relevant operator terms, you acknowledge those terms. Payment alone does not constitute final booking confirmation under section 2.
